A few months ago, I learned that a proposal was in the works for one of my best friends. Me being the (extremely) impulsive person I am, started thinking up engagement gift ideas from that very moment. While wine and gift cards are always good options, I immediately knew I wanted to put together an engagement gift basket with lots of fun goodies for her to enjoy. I scoured the internet for tons of ideas and gift basket themes, made a mile-long list of the items she might like, and did what I do best – shopped!

With summer finally here, it’s time for long days at the beach, obnoxious tan lines, bright colors, loads of ice cream, and of course, weddings! If you’re anything like me, dressing yourself on a regular basis is hard enough, so finding the perfect outfit for someone’s big day can be a bit tricky. Luckily, summer weddings are the epitome of cute guest attire so finding a gorgeous outfit (that obviously won’t upstage the bride) shouldn’t be too daunting. Personally, I’m obsessed with our collection of short lace dresses as a guest option. Trust me, when you see them, you’ll die! Regardless, to ensure you’re dressed for wedding success, follow these guidelines to summer wedding attire, and you’re sure to turn heads!
Blush is in – it’s time to get on board! There are very few things that we adore more than a soft and subtle wedding day palette. The simplicity and elegance of blush tones has always been a personal favorite, but sometimes those delicate colors make me crave just a touch of something more! Kennedy Blue’s blush colored bridesmaid dresses are perfect for a soft palette, but for a fun and glitzy twist, we love the idea of adding peach and gold-toned accents to create a chic look that’s easy to fall for!
Having a DIY wedding can be a lot of hard work, so finding quick and easy wedding décor ideas (that look gorgeous!) will save you a lot of time and stress. Creating tassel garlands to add to your décor is a super adorable trend that can be a really easy and inexpensive project! Whether your garlands are used to jazz up the head table, add some color to a photo booth, or as a backdrop behind the bar, they’ll add a touch of personality that is picture-perfect!
As much as every girl loves a little shine and glitter in her life, one summer beauty trend that we absolutely love is bright and colorful matte nails! The matte look is a trend that we’ve adored from the beginning, but because it was introduced using dark, edgy hues many fashionistas were scared off by the vampire-like look. However, it’s summer and that means it’s time for some color! This sunny season we’re seeing bright shades of classic colors– and we’re totally obsessed! So whether you’re manicuring out of boredom or for an actual special event, matte nails can work for every occasion and aren’t as out-of-the-box as you may think!

A traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a fun and lively reception, Lizzy and Tom shared their “I do’s” on a gorgeous Fall evening in Northern Illinois. From their obsession with the University of Illinois, their scheme of bright fall wedding colors, their choice of unique bridesmaid dresses, to their "party-hard" attitudes as they danced the night away, the couple’s vibrant personality was reflected in every aspect of their gorgeous wedding day.
One of the biggest concerns of ordering online is sizing, and we want to help ensure that you get it right the first time! When ordering a Kennedy Blue bridesmaid dress, it is so incredibly crucial to know your current body measurements and to refer to our dress size chart for total accuracy. So before you order that size 12 because “that’s what you always buy,” you might want to keep reading.
There’s something so charming about the romantic feel of a rustic chic wedding. I can’t help but dream of a perfect day filled with lace wrapped bouquets, Mason jar centerpieces, burlap table runners, chalkboard signs—trust me the list could go on and on. But as much as I adore whimsical rustic décor, the bridal party’s attire is what really makes the whole wedding come together. Whether you’re seeking out a vintage lace look or the soft flow of chiffon, Kennedy Blue bridesmaid dresses and bridal gowns are an easy choice for your rustic affair.
Best friends, brothers, soon-to-be in-laws, cousins, “bros”, or whatever the relation may be, your groomsmen have played an important role in either you or your fiancé’s life. They accepted the honor to take part in your day, and for their time, commitment, and overall friendship, a gift is just one way to say thank you! We've seen groomsmen gift ideas from cuff links and pocket watches, to beer glasses and money clips, but why not give them something a bit more practical; something that can be used not only the day of the wedding, but long after the wedding as well?
We are all too familiar with that one hopeful phrase: “Don’t worry; you can totally wear it again!” As much as we’d love to believe it, sometimes the idea of wearing that drab bridesmaid dress again sounds like a total myth. Fortunately, Kennedy Blue designed its bridesmaid collection to not only be worn again, but with its mix-and-match options, your girls can actually choose a style they’ll like! However, we don’t blame you for doubting wear-again bridesmaid dresses, so we took a variety of Kennedy Blue dresses and re-styled them to create fun summer styles. You would never guess that they once made their way down the aisle!

Taking Your Measurements
For the most accurate measurements, do not measure over your clothing. Your measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn't be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel with the floor.
**Wedding apparel is typically sized differently than retail clothing, so keep in mind that it's not uncommon to find yourself requiring alterations.
Bust size: Wrap the tape around your back and under your arms at the fullest part of your bust (not underneath the bust).
Waist size: While standing up straight, bend at the waist to one side. Take the measurement where the natural crease happens in your side. This should be a few inches above your belly button.
Hip size: Standing with your feet together, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and butt to get this measurement.
Choosing your correct size
Compare these three measurements to the Kennedy Blue size chart above. It is very important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements. For example, if your bust measures 40.5" (size 12), your waist measures 31" (size 10) and your hips measure 41.5" (size 8), we advise that you order a size 12, and get your dress altered down to custom fit your body. Ordering anything smaller than a size 12 would not fit in the bust area. Please note: Our bridal gown size chart is different than the bridesmaids sizing and is listed below.
