Childhood classmates turned high school sweethearts, Lizzy and Logan were finally able to tie the knot during their romantic, nautical-themed wedding up North. From the outdoor ceremony to the nautical decor, every detail from their big day was a perfect reflection of Lizzy and Logan as a couple. Emotional, blissful, the wedding day was more than they could have imagined.

Q. Tell us about your wedding day!

A. Our wedding day was the most fun, exciting and highly anticipated day in our lives! Filled with laughter from 7am we were surrounded by our best friends and family members. Although the weather started out a bit dreary, we didn’t let a little rain ruin our day! The sun came out as we walked down the aisle, and the ceremony was intimate and heartfelt. We danced the night away under the stars, and were sent off with well wishes and sparklers!

Q. How did he pop the question?

A. Logan and I spent the week of the 4^th of July up at my family’s cabin in Brainerd, MN. We were excited to get out of the city for the week and to celebrate his birthday on July 3^rd. All week I kept asking him what he wanted to do, and he just kept saying, “Oh, let’s just see where the day takes us.” I woke up on his birthday and he was already out on the dock getting the speedboat ready to go out for breakfast. We dined at the Lost Lake Lodge in about 20 minutes — the quickest breakfast we had ever had. On the way back, he asked if he could pull into a bay close to the cabin to get a better look at the cabins. He turned off the engine and we sat there in silence just gazing at the cabins. All of a sudden, I felt a little nudge on my shoulder and I turned my head to find Logan on one knee with a ring box in his hand. I couldn’t even form a logical sentence. I jumped up out of the seat and screamed “YES!” for all of Gull Lake to hear. I caught my breath for about ten minutes and then we boated back to our cabin to share the news with my whole family. I couldn’t have pictured a more perfect ring, engagement, or moment in my life.

Q. What was it like seeing Logan for the first time on the big day?

A. I still get goose bumps as I think about racing down the dock to see Logan for our first look! I would say excited, giddy, and anxious described me perfectly. I was so emotional,and Logan just kept smiling, laughing, and wiping my happy tears away.

Q. What was the most challenging part of wedding planning?

A. The most challenging part of the wedding planning was working with many different vendors to piece together the whole day. Often times we met up with the different companies in Brainerd, but planning via email and phone calls was inconvenient and challenging.

Q. Why did you choose Kennedy Blue lace bridesmaid dresses for your girls?
A. I chose Kennedy Blue for my bridesmaids because it was an elegant and classy look that fit each body type perfectly. I saw the short lace bridesmaid dress on an ad while I was shopping for my wedding dress and immediately fell in love with it. The navy blue lace complemented my bridal gown beautifully!

Q. What advice would you give to other brides?

A. Keep perspective! With all of the decisions, deadlines, and checks to write, it is overwhelming. Don’t be afraid to lean on your girlfriends and family for help! Remember that above all, your wedding day will be amazing, because you get to celebrate with your closest friends and family.
