A Romantic Jewel-Tone Wedding

Picture yourself walking into a room with Swarovski crystal chandeliers hung from Fresco painted ceilings and a grand mahogany staircase that leads into a 3,000 square foot ballroom. This was the gorgeous mansion setting where Liz and Travis shared their "I do's". Having first met in high school, years later their romance lead into a thrilling engagement on top of the Navy Pier ferris wheel. This setting was a perfect reflection of their fun, easy-going personalities--their big day was just the same. From the vibrant jewel-tone wedding colors and the stunning mansion decor, to the private first look and abundance of family and friends, their day was more than they could have ever hoped for.

Q. What was it like seeing Travis for the first time on your wedding day?

A. Seeing Travis for the first time is one of the main moments of our day I will never forget. Even though we had just seen each other the night before, it was like seeing him for the first time after being apart. It was that heart racing, sweaty palms, butterflies in your stomach kind of nervous!

Q. Why did you choose Kennedy Blue taffeta bridesmaid dresses?

A. I chose Kennedy Blue bridesmaid dresses for many reasons! For one, I loved the colors they offered and I wanted to stick with my jewel-tone wedding palette, so I ended up choosing Mediterranean. Also, I loved the idea of having the girls in different styles that worked for their figures, and the prices were reasonable for everyone to afford!

Q. What are you and Travis like as a couple?

A. As a couple, I consider Travis & I to be very easy going. We love spending time with our friends going out to dinners and movies, but we are also very much home bodies. Curling up on the couch with our two cats, a good movie, and some take away pizza is one of our favorite date nights.

Q. What advice would you give to other brides?

1. Do yourself a favor by staying organized! Buying or putting together your own wedding planning binder to keep checklists, vendor information, inspiration photos, color swatches, etc., is key! It's so much easier to have everything in one place to easily reference when needed.

2. Record the day as much as you can. This includes taking pictures, videos, etc. Yes, I'm sure you have a professional photographer capturing the day, however, I think candid phone pictures are just as special and memorable! You can never take too many pictures on your wedding day!

3. Fully enjoy the day in all aspects. Make sure you get to eat those delicious hors d'oeuvres, enjoy that glass of wine, admire those DIY decorations that took you endless hours to create, and dance to as many songs as your feet can handle! The day goes by in a flash and you want to make sure you enjoy every last second of it!
