Fit and Sizing
When taking measurements for this dress, we recommend paying attention to bust and waist measurements.
For women over 5’10” we recommend choosing the Kennedy Blue style Olivia, which is the floor length version of Addison. Olivia can then be shortened and hemmed to your desired length.
The model pictured is 5’9” and wearing 3” heels. She is wearing a size 4 dress.
Fabric and Care
Addison is made from a crinkle chiffon fabric which is comfortable to wear and similar in quality to silk, but much easier to clean and care for. This dress is dry clean optional, but can also be washed regularly at home on a delicate cycle. Best of all, the exceptional quality of the crinkle chiffon means Addison will hold up over multiple washes so you can make the most of your dress.
I purchased the Addison in blush. I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dress. It was lovely and the boyfriend thought it was really flattering as well. I was between measurements (2 and 4)and ordered the size down. I think the one comment I would make is that the bodice doesn't end at my natural waist, but instead a little higher (I am 5'2 on a good day). The downside to that was that it makes me appear a little wider than I really am (hugs the ribs). The upside is that A.it was snug against my ribs so I wasn't worried about it falling down, and B.I can eat food and the dress still fits!. Very important. The order confirmation said it would be shipped out in 2 ish weeks, but I got it beforehand. Would have appreciated tighter shipping guidelines. That being said, I definitely would order from Kennedy Blue again!
Ordered these dresses for my bridesmaids. My seamstress told me they are very well made! The only downside is that they run big. Two of my girls tried on a size smaller and they were too small but the size they ordered was too big. They will easily be altered!
Just as pictured!
Taking Your Measurements
For the most accurate measurements, do not measure over your clothing. Your measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn't be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel with the floor.
**Wedding apparel is typically sized differently than retail clothing, so keep in mind that it's not uncommon to find yourself requiring alterations.
Bust size: Wrap the tape around your back and under your arms at the fullest part of your bust (not underneath the bust).
Waist size: While standing up straight, bend at the waist to one side. Take the measurement where the natural crease happens in your side. This should be a few inches above your belly button.
Hip size: Standing with your feet together, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and butt to get this measurement.
Choosing your correct size
Compare these three measurements to the Kennedy Blue size chart above. It is very important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements. For example, if your bust measures 40.5" (size 12), your waist measures 31" (size 10) and your hips measure 41.5" (size 8), we advise that you order a size 12, and get your dress altered down to custom fit your body. Ordering anything smaller than a size 12 would not fit in the bust area. Please note: Our bridal gown size chart is different than the bridesmaids sizing and is listed below.
