Having met through friends in their teenage years, Jenna and Nate's story began as they set out onto his backyard pond for an afternoon of conversation and turtle catching. Their young love blossomed into a full-blown romance and after years together, they officially tied the knot on a perfect September day. Their wedding was filled with delicate details, personal touches, romantic bridesmaid dresses, and blue and yellow wedding colors that were picture-perfect. Overall, the day was more than they could have imagined and beautifully reflected the fun and vibrant personalities of the pair.
Q. How did Nate pop the big question?
A. It was Christmas Eve, snowing, and Nate had called me to help him carry gifts out of the car. I bundled up quick to head outside and that is where I found Nathan down on one knee. I, for the first time in my life was speechless.
Q. What was your favorite part about the wedding day and why?
A. I LOVED taking pictures! I think because I'm a photographer and spend so much time behind the camera that I get nervous about being in front of it. Our photographer, Ali, did such a great job. I love her work and since we are friends, that made things easier, too!
Q. Why did you choose Kennedy Blue bridesmaid dresses for your girls?
A. Kennedy Blue was really the only choice. The quality of the dresses from that line are so much better than other designers. I was in love with the Harper bridesmaid dress ever since it first launched, but in the end it was my 'maid's decision. Luckily, they were just as much in love with Harper as I was!
Q. What wedding planning advice would you give to other brides?
A. You plan and plan some more, so I can see how it can be devastating when things go astray on your big day. However, you can't sweat the small stuff, because in the end the most important thing is that you're getting married!

Taking Your Measurements
For the most accurate measurements, do not measure over your clothing. Your measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn't be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel with the floor.
**Wedding apparel is typically sized differently than retail clothing, so keep in mind that it's not uncommon to find yourself requiring alterations.
Bust size: Wrap the tape around your back and under your arms at the fullest part of your bust (not underneath the bust).
Waist size: While standing up straight, bend at the waist to one side. Take the measurement where the natural crease happens in your side. This should be a few inches above your belly button.
Hip size: Standing with your feet together, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and butt to get this measurement.
Choosing your correct size
Compare these three measurements to the Kennedy Blue size chart above. It is very important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements. For example, if your bust measures 40.5" (size 12), your waist measures 31" (size 10) and your hips measure 41.5" (size 8), we advise that you order a size 12, and get your dress altered down to custom fit your body. Ordering anything smaller than a size 12 would not fit in the bust area. Please note: Our bridal gown size chart is different than the bridesmaids sizing and is listed below.
