If you're anything like me, online shopping is a total guilty pleasure! It's easy, convenient, and there's something seriously so thrilling about getting a fun, new package in the mail. So why not apply that same simplicity, convenience, and excitement when shopping for your bridal party attire? We totally get that online dress shopping can be a bit scary, especially when making such an important purchase, but as a designer that caters to our online customer, we've worked hard to give you the best experience possible when shopping with Kennedy Blue.
If you've fallen in love with a Kennedy Blue dress (and chances are, you have!), but are nervous about taking the plunge, we're here to take away your shopping stress and put your mind at ease! From free swatches to trying samples at home, we've made it easy for you to order Kennedy Blue and feel confident about doing so! Here's how:
Complimentary Fabric Swatches
If you're simply interested in color and the quality of our fabric, what better than to ask for a fabric swatch? They're absolutely free and unlike a lot of designers, they're actually large enough to get a good idea of the color!
Tip: If you're requesting chiffon, always make sure the swatch is either double layered or folded in half to see the true color of the fabric.
We'll be the first to admit: In the beginning, we had sizing ALL wrong. We followed the direction of every other bridesmaid designer - using European sizing that forced our customers to order significantly larger than their regular retail size. We recognized the frustration that it caused all of you and recently decided to make a change. Our dresses now run TRUE TO SIZE! If you're a size 8, order a size 8. If you're a 16, order a 16. You deserve to feel beautiful and confident in your Kennedy Blue bridesmaid dress so order the size that you're most familiar and comfortable with.
Please note that our wedding dresses correlate with a different size chart than bridesmaid dresses and still run a bit snug so taking your measurements is going to be key!
Tip: As much as these dresses run true-to-size, there is always variation so we still highly recommend getting your measurements professionally taken just to be 100% safe! Also, it's time to face the facts - alteration are inevitable. The sooner your realize that, the happier you'll be!
Try On Samples At Home
We get it. Whether it's a bridal gown or bridesmaid dress, it's a big purchase and you might not be comfortable committing to something you've only seen online. With our At Home Try-On program, you can skip the crowded bridal salon and host a dress appointment in the comfort of your home! By filling out our online form, you can receive an At Home Try-On kit which includes up to three bridesmaid dress samples or one wedding dress, the swatch colors of your choice, and a measuring tape to ensure sizing! So pour the champagne, turn up the music, and be ready to throw a try-on party with your girls!
Tip: For bridesmaids, it's best to request 3 different sizes and have your girls all get together at once to try them on. It will speed up the ordering process on your end and will make the experience a whole lot more fun! Got questions? Our At Home Try-On FAQ page has all your answers.
Free Rush Cuts and Returns
We would love for Kennedy Blue to be a part of your wedding and will work as hard as we can to accommodate any (practical) wedding date! If your big day is only a few months away, we will gladly rush your order - at no charge!
You might not think that accepting returns is a big deal, but in the wedding industry, it is! If the dress you ordered wasn't quite what you expected, we can accept any bridal party attire returns within 10 days of delivery. Easy as pie!
Tip: Keep in mind the shipping times on each product page. As with most bridal party designers, our standard shipments are expected to arrive within 12-14 weeks for bridesmaids and 14-16 weeks for bridal so make sure to order early! For more info, view our Shipping and Returns policy.

If you have any suggestions or comments as to how we can make our online shopping even easier, we'd love to hear them! We are constantly working up ideas to improve your experience so any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Styling your besties in mismatched bridesmaid dresses has been a huge trend for the past few years. And as popular as it still is, we’re slowly starting to see brides revert to having all of their girls dressed in the same style. So how do you decide what’s best for your own wedding? Here are some points to get you thinking about whether you should go the route of mismatched bridesmaid dresses or styling your girls in all the same look.
Romantic, elegant, and totally on-trend; we’re currently obsessing over Bordeaux bridesmaid dresses! Inspired by Marsala, Pantone’s 2016 color of the year, our newest color was created out of the need for a deep red with a romantic pink undertone. Literally, you guys, this color is everything we’ve ever dreamt of! Flattering on literally every skin tone, we think this is a color that your bridesmaids are easily going to fall in love with!
In my opinion, choosing your wedding colors is one of the hardest wedding decisions you’ll have to make. If you’re anything like me, you’re indecisive, overwhelmed by the amount of gorgeous color options, and your color preferences change on a weekly basis. How’s a girl to choose!?
Taking Your Measurements
For the most accurate measurements, do not measure over your clothing. Your measurements should be taken while wearing undergarments similar to the ones you will wear with your dress. The measuring tape shouldn't be pulled too tight or have too much slack, and should always be parallel with the floor.
**Wedding apparel is typically sized differently than retail clothing, so keep in mind that it's not uncommon to find yourself requiring alterations.
Bust size: Wrap the tape around your back and under your arms at the fullest part of your bust (not underneath the bust).
Waist size: While standing up straight, bend at the waist to one side. Take the measurement where the natural crease happens in your side. This should be a few inches above your belly button.
Hip size: Standing with your feet together, wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and butt to get this measurement.
Choosing your correct size
Compare these three measurements to the Kennedy Blue size chart above. It is very important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements. For example, if your bust measures 40.5" (size 12), your waist measures 31" (size 10) and your hips measure 41.5" (size 8), we advise that you order a size 12, and get your dress altered down to custom fit your body. Ordering anything smaller than a size 12 would not fit in the bust area. Please note: Our bridal gown size chart is different than the bridesmaids sizing and is listed below.
